First Flow Writing Session of 2010

I have not blogged in so long and haven't even decided what to make this blog about. Perhaps it will show my journey in accumulating creative writing pieces. I haven't written in so long. It has been 8 months at least. So I started by flow writing @ TGIF with May Ho, Sherwin, Yin Ching and Rani…peeps who took Sharon Bakar's creative writing course with me.

Rules: Write for 10 mins, no self-censoring, no editing.Silence your inner critic. It’s pure flow. Allow yourself to write rubbish. This is exactly what I did.

Prompt: “Love is in the air…”

Sigh, tired of this clichéd phrase…anyway, let’s begin. What is Valentines anyway? Can we not dwell on love? This overly commercialized day. Shouldn’t everyday be V-Day…days of unhindered lurve expressions? But please don’t express it by senseless babymaking.

VD- Venereal Disease Day. That will teach people to wrap it before using it, as in wear a bloody condom to prevent all those disgusting STDs out there. Just flash explicit images of herpes sores and genital warts all day. BTW, these will stay with you forever. They’re a gift that can never be returned.

V-Day…should have other interpretations. For instance, Vernacular Day. A day dedicated to speaking in your mother tongue and to treasure your heritage.

V-Day…Victory Day. A day to be victorious in whatever you choose to delve in. Game-playing maybe. Who is into game playing? Apparently everyone is. Guard you heart and be a player. Win over hearts that don’t mean a thing on you. Then suck ‘em dry before trampling on ‘em. What they don’t tell you in game-player-by-night-school is that in the end – Da Player gets played. He/she will end up falling in love. We are all actually Vulnerable human beings in need of love, care, affection and companionship. Well, not always the physical ~oh-la-la. Yes! I mean the sex is usually overrated.

Voracity Day. What are you voracious for in life? Right know I am just kind of blah. Wait…does voracious mean desperately hungry for? Like ravenous for something. If it is, then I am hungry for some LOVE. Yeah, I will admit it. Everyone seeks it. It does not make you any weaker. Welcome it and embrace what’s good for you. It melts, soothes, heals. Healing is in low supply anyway. Maybe Sherwin can heal me with his new energy training. Clear my cobwebs and ignite the chakras.

What’s next…erm…Voluptuous Day- A day for celebrating big boobies. Surely men won’t complain about venerating finely sculpted mammary glands like they do about having to buy gifts on Valentines. A day for admiring bazoonkas, tatas, jugs… I have a feeling this could catch on.
